This cutie was a nice sturdy pine when we found her. The style and wood grain were screaming for a little country french makeover so we painted her with a white latex with light distressing and Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint antiquing and furniture wax. I added these adorable gingham knobs I found at World Market and Voila, an adorable piece that’s a little bit country!

We’ve had some big pieces of furniture in the store before, but I think this one takes the cake. Measuring over 40 inches tall and 70 inches long, it would be perfect for a rustic kitchen or family room! We painted the base in Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint Typewriter with a coat of Antiquing Wax. Isn’t it great?

Honestly, before we started fivethirty, I had never heard of a smokers cabinet (basically they are just lined on the inside). I love the lines of this one. We painted it in Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint in Typewriter and did a damask stencil in rubbed bronze on the top. We then finished the whole piece with Antiquing Wax. Wouldn’t this make a great side or bedside table?

Here’s an oldie but a goodie – We did this piece before we opened the store!! We turned a boring little mail organizer into a fun piece with numbers and chalkboard ovals! This was long before we had Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint so we used a cream latex with black acrylic for the numbers and then dry brushed a darker caramel cover over the whole thing for a little distressing.

We are really excited for December’s Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint color of the month! It’s Boxwood, which is a rich green created to look like a boxwood bush or wreath. A Miss Mustard Seed staple, Boxwood greenery is a great way to add a bit of nature to your room. Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint in Boxwood brings a little of the outdoors onto your table, dresser or chair.
We’ve used boxwood on tables…
On this gorgeous vanity…
On this cheery bench last December…
This tea cart available now…
And we also use it on our Zionsville signs…
They’ve even been in the newspaper…
Whether you finish it with Miss Mustard Seed’s antiquing wax, furniture wax or a mix of the two, it is a gorgeous, rich green, perfect for the holidays or any time!

We are so pleased to carry Linnea’s Lights candles in the store – and they are the ultimate hostess gift! They are all natural soy candles with a double wick. They burn all the way down with none of the yucky soot on the side of the glass. Each candle is hand-poured, packaged in recycled materials, printed with soy inks, and hand stamped. My favorite part is the surprise matchbox under the lid.
Linnea’s Lights is located in neighboring Carmel, Indiana and is a mother-and-daughter run company. We recently partnered with them to bring Linnea’s Lights to a PGA event in Carmel. They were gorgeous!
We carry several fragrances:
Cashmere, a scent that is sophisticated & herbal with patchouli, vanilla & lime;
Belgian Linen, which is a luxurious & sophisticated blend of soft florals woven with ozone on a bed of woods and musk;
Pumpkin, scented with ripe pumpkin and subtle herbal overtones;
Grapefruit, a refreshing pink grapefruit perfectly balanced with a touch of ginger and oak;
and
Winter, which blends the scents of spruce and mint with hints of cranberries and cinnamon.
Come in and check these out soon. Smells are free!
