We’ve had quite a week at fivethirty home! We reset our window for spring, filling it with light and fun greens, blues and a beautiful buffet in Miss Mustard Seed’s Grain Sack.
We also created a spring section with Easter bunnies and eggs along with some bunny burlap pillows inside the store. Aren’t they adorable?
Hope to see you soon!

Yes. It is. A really dark navy when finished with our antiquing wax, but navy it really is! We are talking, of course, about Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint in artissimo. We’ve been using it lately as an alternative to MMSMP in typewriter to complement some of the blue and white china we’ve had in the store lately.

This awesome vanity had been painted and waiting to go out on the floor for months! We are so glad we waited because it certainly went to a good home!! Two coats of Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint in Mora, one of the European colors, and a coat of our custom mix of Antiquing and Furniture wax to finish, and here she is…
And with the mirror…

When we talk about pieces moving quickly, we are not kidding. My quote that “this is not a museum” is certainly true — we look for good deals so we can pass along good deals to our customers. This beautiful cabinet (well, after we finished with it anyway) has quite possibly our all time record for in the door, on hold for someone, bought by someone else, and back out the door! It ended up in the home of one of my favorite customers, Allie! Be sure to follow her on instagram @pardon_the_noob
The cabinet was finished in Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint in trophy with a coat of antiquing wax to finish. Much better than original yellowed oak, don’t you think?
We also finished this cute side table with the same combo of trophy and antiquing wax…

We had quite a flurry of pieces in and out of the store right after the holidays, but we wanted to be sure to share some of our favorites. Maddie named this first piece “the turducken” because she thought much like the turkey, duck and chicken leg, that this piece was a mixture of a secretary, bookshelf and china cabinet all in one!
We painted two coats of Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint in Grain Sack and then finished with our custom mix of Antiquing and Furniture waxes.
The next piece is a beautiful buffet, also in Grain Sack with our custom wax, that is now a hair salon station!
And finally, this very curvy little table, again in Grain Sack and our mixed wax, is still available!!
