Summer and Fall are the perfect time to add a few pieces in our beautiful, vibrant red called Tricycle to your collection. We painted a few “fancier” pieces in tricycle because I think the contrast of soft lines with a powerful color is a nice contrast. Always antiquing wax on the pieces in tricycle because it make them look so luxe…

I am obsessed with this secretary and library table, both finished in Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint Typewriter. The library table is from a college library and is so sturdy and just perfect for an office that needs a wide open desk space.
The secretary is very wide and does not have a hutch. It has lots of great storage inside and is ideal for those of us [ahem] who need to be able to close away our mess.

We’ve become big fans of our white wax in the last few years. I used to be be an “antiquing wax or bust” kind of painter but I really like the look of the white wax on our colors to add a softer look or on our whites to make them even more vibrant.
Here’s a new piece we finished in MMSMP Ironstone and White Wax…
We also love, love, love the white wax on Layla’s Mint, one of our August colors of the month…

We talk in the store about the different grays in the MMSMP line so I thought we’d share a little based on some tables that have been coming and going from the store lately.
First, Schloss, one of our European colors, is more of taupe/gray that can lean a little brown or a little gray depending on what is next to the piece…
Next, grain sack, our old standard that is just on the gray side of white. We love it, we use it, you know it!
And, Shutter Gray, the lovely blue/gray that is an original favorite…

Here are a few of our most recent pieces in the Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint colors of the month for August, Flow Blue and Layla’s Mint…
Layla’s Mint is a soft, warm minty green perfect with creams and beiges for an inviting and soothing look:
Flow Blue is one of those “pops of color” people often request and we have a few pieces that are just perfect to pop!
