Archives for February 2018

what’s new: spring has sprung…
before and after: sold it out of the back room!
before and after: shelf in mmsmp linen
If you know me and we’ve ever talked about Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint, you know I am a Grain Sack painter through and through. I’ve ventured into Farmhouse White territory in the last year or two, but my heart belongs to Grain Sack — the cool tones, the hint of gray, the COVERAGE!
Since my love affair with Grain Sack began over 5 years ago, one paint color has suffered the most: MMSMP linen! It has a yellow undertone where I like cooler tones. But, Im happy to report this cute shelf may bring me around…
It had that “antique green” look we see so much on the before, but look at the cute after pic! Cute little shelf: you may have done what no piece has done to date…convince Erica to paint more things in linen.
colors of the month for February
The Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint colors of the month for February are Farmhouse White and Arabesque.
Farmhouse white is one of my favorite colors and we painted many, many pieces in FHW in 2017. I call it our antique white because it is between a true white and an off-white. It really is the perfect color…
And Arabesque. We don’t use arabesque too much – a nightstand here or there – so I had to borrow a picture from Fred and Bessies! Look at how sweet our soft pink looks on this adorable cabinet!
We have all colors online and in our store!

Customer project in MMSMP Farmhouse White
Another week, another great before and after featuring the work of some of our lovely customers! This time, it’s Ashleigh and hew daughter working on some family pieces for the daughter’s bedroom…
It was soooo orange before and now it looks simple, clean and perfect for a young girl’s room. Ashleigh even let her daughter do the distressing! They are thrilled with the results (and we are so proud)!
update on the new location!
Hello! We’ve been busy the last week at our new store location, 205 S Main Street! It is so spacious and lovely, I can’t wait for you to see it!
First things first, we are doing a little update to our logo. I wanted a more current look than what we’ve had and I am thrilled with the results…
I shared a facebook live video on the fivethirty home facebook page containing a tour and some ideas we have for the new space. Lots of painting (walls, trim, checkout area, cabinets and more) and other general maintenance is happening right now. Here’s a before (and we hope to show you the after soon)!
I have gotten several questions regarding when we will be opening. Our goal is to move to the new location in early to mid March. We hope to only be closed for a few days (maybe Sunday-Wednesday). We will be sure to keep you updated as we get closer.
And, thanks so much for the survey responses! We are reviewing and have some things in process that you requested (expanded Linnea’s Lights selection, more paper goods, rugs and more). Thanks again for your help!
before and after: radio table
before & after: customer project
We worked with a few customers in January as they updated some furniture. We love talking about projects and collaborating to find just the right paint color and finish for the space. This was one of my favorites. I’m filing this as a before and after because she was nice enough to take pictures! Take a look…
I mean, come on!!! It looks like a spa! I told her I was going to come take a nap because it looked so cozy.
Tricia used Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint in Grain Sack for the bed. She did a light coat and then wiped off some so the amazing wood grain showed through. She finished the piece in MMSMP furniture wax with just a hint of antiquing in the corners. Well done! And so inspiring — who is ready to paint their bed?
