Sometimes I do the “split screen” on these before and after and some of the after gets a little lost in translation. On this piece though, the after really shines through mainly because the before was so bad! It’s oak and was fairly well worn by the time it made it’s way to us. Two coats of Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint in Trophy followed by clear furniture wax completes the transformation. People will occasionally ask why I choose to use a tinted wax. In this case, I did not want to draw attention to the oak grain of the piece and antiquing or white wax can accentuate the older look as it gets down in the grain of the wood.
