We talk with our customers in the store about the endless looks that can be achieved with just one quart of Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint. The waxes that are part of the line and the custom waxes available are guaranteed to make your piece look unique. Here are a few examples of how changing the wax can make one paint color look completely different.
- Trophy with gray wax: Gray wax is a custom blend of Miss Mustard Seed’s antiquing and white waxes. They can be mixed in any combination but we prefer to add more white wax to completely overpower the brown of the antiquing wax. Here, we’ve used gray wax on two matching shelves to get a soft, washed look.
- Trophy with antiquing wax: Straight antiquing wax over trophy gives it some definite brown tones that are not present in the paint itself.
- Trophy with mixed wax: when you hear me say “light antiquing” this is what I am talking about. We mix MMSMP antiquing and furniture waxes together to get a softer version of our antiquing wax. This custom finish is what we applied to these chests.
