This beaut is on the way to Florida to a beach home. We’re a little jealous! The detailing on this piece was so sweet — a great example of how distressing milk paint can give the piece a natural patina. We used Farmhouse White and furniture wax.

This little table has one of my favorite details on a piece of furniture, secret storage! Who doesn’t need more storage? Can you spot it??
If you guessed that the sides come down, congrats – you are correct! It has been refinished using two coats of Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint in Mora with a coat of furniture wax. I’m on a big furniture wax kick right now. Let those true colors show!

We love the product of the month for April, tough coat!
Our premium, non yellowing tough coat provides extra durability against general wear and tear, water damage and food stains. Perfect for those high traffic surfaces such as table tops, seating, doors and floors. Apply with a roller or brush onto recently painted or clean, non oily/greasy surfaces.
If applying to a recently painted surface, allow the surface to dry 24-36 hours before applying. For maximum durability, apply two coats waiting 2-4 hours between coats. In humid areas, longer drying times may be required. 500 mL covers approximately 75 sqft. Easy clean up with soap and warm water. Dries to a matte finish.

Here are a couple of great examples of how our Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint can be used on a variety of furniture styles to get numerous, very different looks.
One, rustic and antiqued. We stained the top of the table using MMSMP in Curio and blended the yellow with antiquing wax:
Two, refined with little distressing and straight clear furniture wax:

Is it spring yet? I guess the answer in Indiana is “not today”! Well, at least or Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint colors are spring-like! Nothing says spring like yellow and green…
The finish options for these colors are all amazing. fivethirty likes to do a clear, furniture wax finish on Lucketts Green and a lightly antiqued finish on Mustard Seed Yellow.

I am so ready for pastel colors and sunshine and all the happy things! You, too? Well, then, do I have a couple of tables for you! Both of these sweet tables were finished in Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint in Eulalies Sky (actually the kicker here is that there are 3 tables because the square table has a twin!)

If you haven’t used Miss Mustard Seed’s Furniture Wax, you are missing out on a lovely finish. Our beeswax based wax is super smooth and very malleable. Check out that consistency…
It is an amazing product to work with — lots of work time before it dries and no detectable odor make it a pleasure to use to finish all types of porous paints. Yep, that’s right, not just for milkpaint! It can be used on Chalk and Clay paints as well as flat latex. Stop in soon to see!

We are just moving right along through 2019, aren’t we? It’s March already and we are loving the Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint colors of the month for this month, French Enamel and Trophy!
First, French Enamel…
It is a soft blue and one of Miss Mustard Seed’s favorites. She created it to mimic the look of old French enamelware and it is spot on. Lots of blues mix to make French Enamel a perfect accent color. Check out some of the side tables we have finished in French Enamel…
And, Trophy…
I love Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint in Trophy! We’ve been painting loads of buffets, dressers, lingerie chests and bedside tables of all sorts and sizes with MMSMP Trophy. And, they all look amazing, if we do say so ourselves. Trophy has a bit of a green base and so the look is almost pewter when dry. We finish it, more often than not, with a custom mix of antiquing and furniture waxes. Here are some of our latest pieces…

This has to be one of my all time favorite pieces! It’s in my favorite color (MMSMP grain sack). I painted it. And, THAT HARDWARE! I was just talking about it with a customer and we decided we liked the hardware because it was an unusual shape. It is traditional with a little geometric shape to it and super cool!
